About Limitless and LimbPower
Limitless is British Cycling’s inclusive cycling programme which will support disabled riders to embrace the joy of cycling. Through Limitless we will create a national network of inclusive cycling clubs and opportunities, that provide positive and inclusive environments which support riders to thrive on their own cycling journey. Limitless will be a game changing project for disability and para cycling and the successful candidate will be at the heart providing more opportunities for disabled people. LimbPower are a registered charity, and the National Disability Sport Organisation for amputees and individuals with limb difference. LimbPower works to bridge the gab between hospital rehabilitation and community engagement and physical activity in sport, for recreation and competition.
About The Role
This in an exciting opportunity to inspire change within British Cycling and LimbPower. The LimbPower Limitless Ambassadorwill be instrumental in devising and delivering the BC/LimbPower collaboration plan, aimed at increasing opportunities for people with limb difference to experience the joy of cycling.
The LimbPower Limitless Ambassador will have a responsibility to raise awareness of cycling opportunities and breakdown barriers for people with limb loss or limb difference to access cycling
The Ambassador will be the conduit between limb centres and local Limitless Clubs to signpost people to cycling opportunities.
We are specifically looking for a candidate in either the South East or South West Region, to connect with current projects and priorities..
About You
The Limitless project has ambitious goals and innovative and inspiring ideas. We are looking for a candidate who can mirror these values.
We are interested to hear from candidates with lived experience of limb difference, either first-hand or supporting amputees and individuals with limb difference.
An understanding of the needs of disabled people is essential, knowledge of the cycling and sport landscape is desirable.
Successful candidates will be required to create local connections to ensure the successful signposting for people with an amputation or limb difference into cycling opportunities. The ability to build strong and valuable relationships with key groups and contacts is a necessity.
The LimbPower Limitless Ambassador will be working with a range of people locally but will also work closely and will be supported by British Cycling and LimbPower colleagues. You will have the confidence to work independently, as well as ability to work within a team.
We are looking for candidates with a passion for a making a difference to people with limb difference, who share the ethos and vision of Limitless.
What will you be doing?
Working with British Cycling and LimbPower to create working ‘collaboration plan’ – identifying key areas for joint working throughout the year.
Creating local networks for Inclusive Cycling. Linking disabled people, disability clubs, groups, charities, limb centres and private clinics, into Limitless clubs and further opportunities.
Supporting Limitless Clubs to organise sessions and events and provide expertise in limb difference
Championing Limitless – providing positive messaging about inclusive cycling opportunities.
Champing LimbPower – sharing key information about the resources and opportunities that LimbPower provide
Promoting Limitless events and Race Days to riders with limb difference.
Attending LimbPower flagship multi-sport events to promote cycling
Collating local good new stories and case studies for British Cycling and LimbPower to share nationally.
