Legal Manager (Maternity Cover)

Role Title: Interim Legal Manager (12 Month Maternity Cover)

Salary : Up to £60,000 per annum dependent on experience 

Location: The National Cycling Centre, Manchester

About you

  • Sufficient educational attainment to demonstrate ability to carry out the role to the required standard, current Solicitors Practising Certificate and reasonable level of PQE.
  • Excellent knowledge and strong experience of drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements .
  • Good knowledge of Data Protection requirements and of commercial and contract law
  • An understanding of employment law, regulatory frameworks and legal issues and the Equality Act is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with an ability to analyse and disseminate information whilst keeping robust records.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide advice and support to the Head of Legal & Integrity in providing advice to British Cycling colleagues, on all legal issues affecting the organisation including, principally:
  1. Commercial sponsorship agreements;
  2. Agreements with external suppliers, consultants and stakeholders;
  3. Member and event insurance claims
  4. other issues including, regulatory, employment, defence of liability and other contentious matters, intellectual property, medical, data protection, anti-doping and property law (as required from time to time).
  • Draft and review a range of legal agreements including commercial, sponsorship, supplier, NDA and partnership agreements.
  • Support the drafting and development of British Cycling’s Technical Regulations.
  • Support the drafting and implementation of processes and policies at all levels within British Cycling.
  • Act as Disciplinary Clerk for disciplinary hearings, liaising with British Cycling’s Disciplinary Panel
